PROTECTED NATURAL AREA
At Blanco Pitaya, we understand that protecting nature is not an option, but rather an ethical and collective responsibility. As a Federal Protected Natural Area of mountain cloud forest under the ADVC category, our work is based on a permanent commitment to conservation, research, and environmental restoration , ensuring that every action we take contributes to preserving the ecological balance and the continuity of life that inhabits this space.
Our work is guided by an environmental management plan , which clearly defines the strategies and actions necessary to maintain and improve the forest's conservation status. As part of this plan, we constantly monitor endemic flora and fauna, paying special attention to species that play an essential role in regulating and balancing the ecosystem . Measures are also established to protect biological corridors, breeding areas, and areas of high ecological importance, ensuring their long-term conservation.
Every adapted trail , every visiting policy, and every experience within the reserve respond to the same principle: absolute respect for nature. We don't view human experiences as a burden on the forest, but rather as an opportunity to raise awareness and reinforce the idea that protecting the environment means protecting ourselves.
At Blanco Pitaya , our mission is clear and forceful: to ensure that this cloud forest continues to be a sanctuary of biodiversity, a natural laboratory for research, and a space of inspiration for current and future generations . Because conservation is not just about preserving the present; it's also an act of love and responsibility toward the future of life on Earth.
BIODIVERSITY
Within the reserve, we have various species protected under NOM 059, so we take action to care for and conserve them.

Flora and Fauna
Our commitment to flora is based on preserving and regenerating the cloud forest. We care for native vegetation, promote reforestation, and protect species. Vegetation is the heart of the ecosystem we defend.

Birds
In the reserve, birds find a safe haven. We protect their nesting and feeding areas, aware that they are indicators of a healthy environment. We observe, learn, and promote respect for each species, from the smallest birds of prey to the largest birds of prey.

Fungi
The fungi kingdom is key to forest health. We value and care for the fungi that regenerate the soil and maintain the ecosystem's life cycle. We are committed to protecting them, studying their role, and avoiding practices that harm their habitat.
